2013 Toronto Film Festival Complete Line-Up

Today the organizers of the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival announced about a quarter of the festival’s lineup including Galas, Special Presentations and the fest’s opening night film, which will be Bill Condon‘s Wikileaks feature The Fifth Estate. That, however, is just the start.

As far as the Gala Presentations are concerned you have John WellsAugust: Osage County starring Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts, John KrokidasKill Your Darlings with Daniel Radcliffe, Justin Chadwick‘s Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom starring Idris Elba in the title role, Peter Landesman‘s JFK assassination pic Parkland and Jonathan Teplitzky‘s The Railway Man with Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman.

The Special Presentations grow even more insane as it begins with Steve McQueen‘s 12 Years a Slave, the much-talked-about Cannes feature Blue is the Warmest Color, Jean-Marc Vallée‘s Dallas Buyers Club starring Matthew McConaughey, Atom Egoyan‘s Devil’s Knot based on the story of the West Memphis Three starring Colin Firth and Reese Witherspoon, Ned Benson‘s The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Him and Her, Dom Hemingway starring Jude Law, which Fox Searchlight dated for a 2014 release only yesterday, Richard Ayoade‘s The Double, Alfonso Cuarón‘s Gravity with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, David Gordon Green‘s Joe, Kelly Reichardt‘s Night Moves, Jim Jarmusch Only Lovers Left Alive, Asghar Farhadi‘s The Past, Stephen FrearsPhilomena starring Judi Dench, Denis Villeneuve‘s Prisoners with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal and Jonathan Glazer‘s long-gestating Under the Skin starring Scarlett Johansson.

Yeah, the list is long and it is distinguished and it is only about 25% complete as plenty more titles are yet to be announced, including the Midnight Madness selection.

I have listed the films announced so far directly below and will be updating the list as more and more are announced.

The 38th Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 5 to 15, 2013 and I will be there through the 13th covering as many of these films as possible, but clearly it’s going to be tough.
