Sale on Universal’s 100th Anniversary DVD and Blu-ray Sets

It’s rare I feel the need to post an item announcing the sale of a particular DVD and/or Blu-ray set, but Universal’s 100th Anniversary Collection is a pretty swanky item and Amazon is offering both the DVD and Blu-ray editions at an incredibly marked down rate.

Included are 25 films, though there is one difference between the DVD and Blu-ray editions (CLICK HERE). Included in both sets are the 24 films listed below, but the Blu-ray set includes the Spanish version of Bela Lugosi’s 1931 Dracula while the DVD set includes Schindler’s List, which has since been released on Blu-ray following the initial release of this set:

  1. Despicable Me
  2. Mamma Mia! The Movie
  3. The Bourne Identity
  4. The Fast and the Furious
  5. Apollo 13
  6. Jurassic Park
  7. Do the Right Thing
  8. Field of Dreams
  9. Out of Africa
  10. Back to the Future
  11. The Breakfast Club
  12. Scarface
  13. E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
  14. National Lampoon’s Animal House

…and a 15-track CD including the themes from the following films:

  • Spartacus
  • To Kill a Mockingbird
  • Airport

  • Apollo 13
  • The Bourne Identity

All-in-all, the Blu-ray set is marked down $50 to $149.99 and the DVD set is marked down $60 to $119.99. You can [amazon asin=”B008YB935K” text=”click here”] for the [amazon asin=”B008YB935K” text=”Blu-ray”] edition and [amazon asin=”B008YB9346″ text=”click here”] for the [amazon asin=”B008YB9346″ text=”DVD”] edition.

The set is obviously for collectors that don’t tend to buy movies as soon as they are released, but if you happen to own only a couple of these it may be worth picking up and taking the versions you already own to the used DVD/Blu-ray store for some credit.
