Zack Snyder’s ‘Superman: Man of Steel’ Set to Shoot in June 2011

Deadline reveals Zack Snyder is preparing to begin auditioning actors for Superman: Man of Steel with an eye for actors that are (or look) somewhere between the ages of 28-32.

The other piece of information that may intrigue you is the film is currently scheduled to begin shooting in June 2011 for a December 2012 release.

Now discuss among yourselves who should be cast as Superman. The Deadline piece discusses the rumored names previously mentioned including The Social Network‘s Armie Hammer, True Blood’s Joe Manganiello, “The Vampire Diaries'” Ian Somerhalder and 39-year-old Jon Hamm (he’d be 40 when the film got underway), who from this interview with Conan O’Brien doesn’t seem too interested. I’ve also seen people suggest Nathan Fillion (an Internet favorite) and Henry Cavill.
