I have no idea how far Daniel Radcliffe will be able to take his career beyond the Harry Potter franchise, which will be ending with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II on July 15, 2011, but he’s managed some work since starring as the titular star of one of the biggest filmed franchise ever such as December Boys in 2007 and a voice over bit on “The Simpsons.” However, the true test is soon to come and it will begin with the horror film, The Woman in Black for Hammer Films and the first pics have just been released.
Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass) adapted Susan Hill’s ghost story for the screen, which follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.
Starring alongside Radcliffe are Ciaran Hinds, Janet McTeer, Liz White and Alisa Khazanova. James Watkins (co-writer of The Descent: Part 2) directs. You can click here for slightly larger versions of each image.
