I mentioned it in my preliminary Oscar contenders article and now Olivier Dahan’s follows up to the Osca-winning La vie en rose has an international trailer. My Own and Only makes its way to French cinemas on April 4 and then the Tribeca Film Festival in late April and I also wouldn’t be surprised to see it in the Cannes line-up once it’s announced next month.
The film stars Renée Zellweger, Forest Whitaker, Madeline Zima, Nick Nolte, Chandler Frantz and Elias Koteas and tells the story of a wheelchair-bound former singer (Zellweger) and her friend (Whitaker) on a road trip to Memphis. Sounds like something the Academy loves to me. Check out the trailer directly below and The Playlist also found some clips if those interest you.
I have also added a gallery of 10 images to the film, which can be seen right here.
