White Buffalo Media has teamed with Prana Animation Studios on Holy Cow!, a CG-animated feature that will have Dwayne Johnson providing the voice of a macho Texas steer, reports Variety.
The story, based on an original idea by Peter Kalmbach and Teddy Grennan, follows a Texas bull who decides to seek refuge in India, where cattle are revered, not eaten.
White Buffalo and Prana are going out to writers and directors. Johnson is a principal of White Buffalo, along with Dany Garcia, Aja Warren and Jack Turner.
Turner and Kalmbach will produce Holy Cow! with Prana’s Kristin Dornig and Arish Fyzee, and Garcia and Johnson will be executive producers.
