Transformers 2 is currently slotted for a June 26, 2009 release, but fans over at Michael Bay’s forums are getting concerned over a new article at The Hollywood Reporter referring to the sequel as being “as-yet-unslotted”.
In Bay’s New Years Greeting he says, “For the millions of viewers that logged on this year I want to thank you for the support. Transformers 2 will be coming soon. The new robots are really really unique and there are a lot of them this time.” Unfortunately for the anxious fans that doesn’t do much to confirm or deny a delay in production.
Logical assumption would lead us to believe that a delay would be caused due to the writers strike since word of a finished script has not been mentioned outside of the reportedly fake script that surfaced a couple of months ago.
Who knows what will happen as the WGA strike looks like it may never end and we will all begin watching second rate shows on the Internet. We’ll keep you updated as things progress.
