‘Nip/Tuck’ Creator Set to Work with Julia Roberts

Elizabeth Gilbert was married, had a big apartment and a weekend home, notoriety as a writer and was trying to get pregnant when she realized it wasn’t the life she wanted. After a painful divorce she began a journey of self exploration and travel around the world, a journey she documented in her book “Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything, Across Italy, India and Indonesia.” Not only does it have one hell of a long title it is also going to serve as the source material for Murphy’s Eat, Pray, Love for Ryan Murphy to adapt and direct for Julia Roberts who will star as Gilbert.

Eat, Pray, Love will be shot as an epic film which will cover four countries.

Ryan Murphy is the creator of the hit FX television series “nip/tuck” and is currently awaiting the release of his directorial debut Running with Scissors a film in which he partnered with Brad Pitt and his Plan B production house, a partnership that will continue with Eat, Pray, Love as well as Murphy’s likely next move Dirty Tricks. Tricks is set up at Paramount Vantage and already has Meryl Streep attached to star as Watergate figure Martha Mitchell wife of John Mitchell, United States Attorney General under President Richard Nixon.

Murphy hopes to have Eat, Pray, Love written and ready to shoot as soon as he wraps produciton on Dirty Tricks.
