Tarantino Shoots Down ‘Friday the 13th’ Details

See, told you that last report was simply rumor and nothing was solidified, as Quentin Tarantino has shot down the reports that he will be taking over the Friday the 13th franchise in an interview with Empire Online.

When asked, “What’s happening with Friday the 13th? Nothing at all! It’s a complete lie,” he told the site. “I like Jason and everything, but I’ve no intention of directing a movie! New Line talked to me about it, but it was a complete fabrication, that article. I would love to do a horror film. I’m just saying it’s not going to be Friday The 13th…”

So it wasn’t a complete rumor, New Line did bring up the possibility but Tarantino seems to be not interested.

However, Inglorious Bastards does seem to be moving forward as Tarantino also said, “My next film is probably going to be Inglorious Bastards, yeah. I’ve written scenes. I’ve written a lot of it but now I have to sit down and start putting it together in a script that I can start shooting. And that’s a different thing.”

So The Ultimate Jason Voorhees Movie is not going to be going anywhere for the time being, but with the news sprouting up there may be something moving on that front, and if New Line has brought it up with Tarantino, where will their next stop be?
