Kirsten Storms’ Maxie has officially been written out on General Hospital. She last appeared in March 2026 but has been off-screen since due to the situation surrounding her personal life. Last month, she took to social media, hinting that her return to Los Angeles for work seems unlikely. Earlier, her future was left uncertain on the show, but now the makers appear to have given her story a clear direction while also leaving room for her return sometime in the future.
General Hospital writes out Kirsten Storms’ Maxie
The recent episode of General Hospital featured Cody, who gave official news about Maxie’s future. He revealed that Spinelli received “an amazing job offer” in Australia. Therefore, Spinelli, Maxie, Georgie, Bailey, and James have decided to relocate and leave Port Charles the following night. Additionally, the show also suggested that Maxie will not be on the show for a long time, as it was learned that she gave up her ownership in Deception Cosmetics. She sold the shares to Michael. This hints that Maxie is officially out of the storyline, but there’s still a way to bring her back, if the makers want, in the future.
Before the character’s exit, her story centered around her coming out of a lengthy coma. During that time, she learns that her dead husband, Nathan, has now been resurrected. However, she was unaware of Nathan’s real identity: that he was not really her husband but his twin, Cassius Faison. Unfortunately, Nathan developed feelings for Lulu. Later, Storms appears in only a few episodes before disappearing once again. At the time, her absence was explained as her being on a long trip to the Grand Canyon with Spinelli, Georgie, and Bailey.
In June 2026, she shared a lengthy message on Instagram, updating fans on her personal life and the possibility of a GH return. “As for what is in my future, where GH is concerned…. Given what’s been going on, I can’t say I will feel comfortable heading back to Los Angeles and returning to work,” she wrote.
