A star from Cowboy Bebop has reportedly joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as Marie Kirkland. Details about this new character are mostly under wraps. The actress is well-known for her roles in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Youthful Daze, Zoo, FBI: International, and more.
Jade Harlow cast as Marie Kirkland on The Young and the Restless
Harlow will make her first appearance on The Young and the Restless on August 10, 2026. She will play Marie Kirkland, who’s described as “a woman with a complicated past who comes to Genoa City looking for a fresh start.” She will not be a regular cast member but will appear in a recurring capacity (via Soap Opera Digest).
This is not the first time Harlow will be acting in a soap opera, given that she has two major shows in her repertoire. Those are Passions and Days of Our Lives. She made her acting debut with a James E. Reilly-created show, playing Jessica Bennett. It centered around four core families: the Cranes, the Lopez-Fitzgeralds, the Bennetts, and the Russells. They reside in a small fictional town of Harmony. While things may look peaceful from the outside, from the inside they all face numerous challenges involving love, loss, and heartbreak.
In an earlier conversation with Chat Channel, Harlow called Passions “a pop culture phenomenon at the time” before going on to detail her experience on it. “We did every rip [off] of every horror movie. We did The Exorcist. We did Poltergeist. You name it, we did it. My house sank into hell. We fought gargoyles. It was the oddest experience and nothing at all that you would expect to do on a soundstage in a daytime show…. We pushed the boundaries of what the world rules are,” she said.
In addition, Harlow played Sheryl Connors on Days of Our Lives. She first appeared in 2014 and arrived in Salem to interview for a graphic designer role at Mad World Cosmetics. She was also a romantic interest of Lucas.
