She Said is now available to stream on Netflix. The 2-hour and 9-minute true crime drama follows two New York Times reporters as they uncover Harvey Weinstein’s history of abuse and cover-ups.
The synopsis reads, “Based on the bombshell New York Times investigation, reporters Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor shatter the silence surrounding sexual assault in Hollywood by empowering courageous women to retake their strength through their stories of survival.” The movie has earned a Rotten Tomatoes score of 88% and 91% on Popcornmeter.
The film was directed by Maria Schrader. Rebecca Lenkiewicz adapted the screenplay from the book ‘She Said’ written by Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor. Schrader is best known for co-writing and directing the award-winning film Love Life and the Emmy-winning miniseries Unorthodox.
In the movie, Twohey was played by Carey Mulligan. She is best known for her role as Daisy opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Great Gatsby. Her other credits include Promising Young Woman, Maestro, and An Education, for all of which she received Academy Award nominations for Best Actress. She has also played key roles in the movies Pride and Prejudice, Drive, and Suffragette.
Additionally, Zoe Kazan played Kantor in the movie. She is best known for writing, executive producing, and starring in the rom-com Ruby Sparks.
