Final Destination Bloodlines Directors’ New Horror Sequel Movie Gets Bloody First Look

Final Destination Bloodlines directors have unveiled the first look at their next horror sequel. The new image shows a glimpse at the upcoming sequel to Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein’s acclaimed 2018 sci-fi thriller. The long-awaited sequel will have its world premiere later this month at the Fantasia International Film Festival.

What do we see in the first look at Final Destination Bloodlines directors’ new horror sequel?

The first look at Lipovsky and Stein’s Freaks sequel, titled Freaks Part II, shows Lorelei Olivia Mote sitting in a car with blood trickling from her left eye. Mote, who succeeds Lexy Kolker as Chloe in the sequel, looks toward someone seated beside her.

Speaking about the film to Bloody Disgusting, a spokesperson for Fantasia said, “There’s also inventive gore – the most we’ve seen in a Canadian film in years – that punctuates the outstanding performances and serious subject matter.” Freaks Part II is the official closing film of Fantasia. The festival is scheduled to go on from July 16 to August 2, 2026.

The official synopsis of Freaks Part II reads, “Several years after a traumatic escape, we meet Mary and her daughter Chloe as they live on the road, hiding their powers and identities. They are hunted by the Abnormal Defense Force, paramilitary police that specialize in ruthlessly exterminating ‘freaks’ like them. Mary is fueled by revenge, determined to find the ADF officer who killed her first child.”

Lorelei Olivia Mote is best known for playing Petal Hollyhock in Riddle of Fire. Alongside Mote, the Freaks sequel will also see Amanda Crew (Some Other Woman) reprise her role as Mary, while Lili Taylor (The Conjuring) will be playing an unnamed character.

Apart from Freaks Part II, the Final Destination Bloodlines directing duo have their hands full, as they are set to direct the sci-fi drama The Traveler for Paramount, the sci-fi survival film The Earthling for Columbia, and the psychological horror film Long Lost for Amblin. They are also co-writing Gremlins 3 with Chris Columbus.

A theatrical release date for Freaks Part II has not yet been announced.
