Channing Tatum and Jude Law’s acclaimed R-rated thriller Side Effects is set to leave Netflix later this month. According to What’s on Netflix, the film will exit the streaming platform on July 15, 2026, giving subscribers a limited time to watch it before its departure.

Steven Soderbergh directed Side Effects from a screenplay by Scott Z. Burns. The psychological thriller was released in U.S. theaters on February 8, 2013. The film begins with Emily Taylor struggling to adjust after her husband Martin returns home following a four-year prison sentence for insider trading. Soon, Emily falls into a deep depression that eventually leads to a suicide attempt.

She begins treatment with psychiatrist Dr. Jonathan Banks, who prescribes a series of medications in an order to improve her condition. When those prove ineffective, he turns to a newly introduced drug on the recommendation of her former psychiatrist, Dr. Victoria Siebert. Although the drug initially appears to improve her condition, it has devastating consequences, setting off a chain of events.

The film stars Jude Law as Dr. Jonathan Banks, Rooney Mara as Emily Taylor, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Dr. Victoria Siebert, Tatum as Martin Taylor, Vinessa Shaw as Deirdre Banks, and David Costabile as Carl among others.

Upon release, Side Effects earned a positive response from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an 82 percent critics score based on 225 reviews. Meanwhile, audiences have given it a 70 percent rating. The Times reported, “Steven Soderbergh has crafted a meticulously treacherous Hitchcockian thriller; the atmosphere crackles with sexual tension and betrayal.”
