Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is set to hit HBO Max. The 2026 R-rated horror movie will be available for streaming in July.

HBO Max will make a global streaming debut of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Lee Cronin’s The Mummy on Friday, July 3. The movie will make its television debut on Saturday, July 4, at 8 p.m. ET.

The movie was released in theaters on April 15, 2026. The synopsis of the folk horror movie reads, “The young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace. Eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she’s returned to them. However, what should be a joyful reunion soon turns into a living nightmare as she starts to transform into something truly horrifying.”

It’s written and directed by Lee Cronin, best known for directing Evil Dead Rise, The Hole in the Ground, Minutes Past Midnight, and Ghost Train. The cast includes Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, Shylo Molina, Billie Roy, Veronica Falcon, Hayat Kamille, May Elghety, and Emily Mitchell.

The movie is produced by James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville. Wan is best known for directing the 2004 Saw movie and is also credited with creating Billy, the puppet, in the franchise. He is also the director of Dead Silence, Insidious, and The Conjuring.

Blum is an Emmy-winning producer best known for his works on Paranormal Activity, The Purge, and Insidious. Keville is known for producing Evil Dead Rise, Cocaine Bear, and Whistle. Executive Producers include Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Macdara Kelleher, and Lee Cronin.

Produced on a $22 million budget, the 2026 horror movie ultimately grossed roughly $90.4 million at the box office despite a sluggish opening. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy holds a 45% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics and audiences calling it a “juicy, gore-heavy movie that ekes out intense thrills.”
