Larry David’s New TV Show Streams Today on HBO Max

HBO Max has officially added Larry David‘s newest comedy TV show from executive producers Barack and Michelle Obama. As of today, the first episode of Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness is finally available to stream on HBO Max. New episodes will debut weekly leading up to the season finale on August 7.

What do we know about Larry David’s new TV show?

Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness is a sketch comedy series written and created by David and Jeff Schaffer. This marks David’s latest collaboration with HBO after Curb Your Enthusiasm wrapped up its 12-season run in 2024. In the new show, David will be seen through different pivotal moments in American history, which are retold through the comedian’s hilarious social commentary.

“President and Mrs. Obama want to honor America’s 250th anniversary and celebrate the history of the nation on the occasion, but then Larry David calls,” reads the show’s logline.

Joining David are select Curb Your Enthusiasm actors and noteworthy guest stars, including Barack Obama, Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Hamm, Bill Hader, Kathryn Hahn, Sean Hayes, Chris Parnell, Isla Fisher, Vince Vaughn, Rita Wilson, Lin-Manuel Miranda, J. B. Smoove, Alan Tudyk, and more. The seven-episode series is also executive-produced by Ethan Lewis and Vinnie Malhotra for Higher Ground, along with The Obamas.

So far, the show has already garnered a 67% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The creative team also includes cinematographer Patrick Alexander Stewart, composer Jeff Cardoni, and production designer David Saenz de Maturana, along with editors Roger Nygard and Steven Rasch.
