Brad Pitt & Matt Damon’s R-Rated Marvel Movie To Stream on HBO Max Soon

HBO Max subscribers will soon be able to stream two versions of a hit Marvel sequel, which features cameos from Brad Pitt and Matt Damon. Both the theatrical cut and the extended edition are heading to the streaming platform next month.

Here are all the details.

Deadpool 2 and its Super Duper Cut will be streaming on HBO Max

Starting July 1, HBO Max will add both Deadpool 2 and Deadpool 2: Super Duper Cut to its streaming library, as per its press release. The extended version includes additional scenes, alternate jokes, and extra character moments that were not part of the original theatrical release.

Released in May 2018, Deadpool 2 was directed by David Leitch and distributed by 20th Century Fox before the studio became part of Disney. The sequel follows Wade Wilson, played by Ryan Reynolds, as he forms the X-Force team to protect a troubled young mutant named Russell from the time-traveling soldier Cable, portrayed by Josh Brolin.

The cast also includes Morena Baccarin, Zazie Beetz, Brianna Hildebrand, Julian Dennison, and T.J. Miller. Brad Pitt made a memorable cameo as Vanisher, while Matt Damon appeared in a surprise role under heavy makeup.

The movie crushed expectations at the box office. Made for around $110 million, it went on to pull in over $700 million worldwide, turning into one of the biggest R-rated hits Hollywood has ever seen. The film’s huge success helped push Deadpool from a fan-favorite comic character to one of Marvel’s biggest modern stars.

Critics and audiences largely loved the sequel. It holds an 83% critics’ score and an 85% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, while IMDb users rate it 7.6/10. Fans adored Ryan Reynolds’ performance, the fast-paced action, and the introduction of beloved characters like Cable and Domino.

With both cuts arriving on HBO Max, Marvel fans will have the opportunity to enjoy the theatrical version and the expanded edition side by side. For viewers who missed the Super Duper Cut the first time around, July 1 offers the perfect excuse to revisit one of Marvel’s most beloved movies.
