Sophia Myles Under the Moonlight

Sophia Myles will play the female lead in CBS’ upcoming drama “Moonlight,” while D.W. Moffett has been hired to star in the CW’s new drama “Life Is Wild,” says The Hollywood Reporter.

Additionally, Matt Letscher has joined the cast of ABC’s upcoming drama “Eli Stone” as a regular, and Portia de Rossi has come aboard FX’s “Nip/Tuck” as a recurring.

“Moonlight,” from Warner Bros. TV and Silver Pictures, centers on a private investigator (Alex O’Laughlin) who is a vampire and struggles with the repercussions of immortality, vampire adversaries and his love for a mortal. Myles will play his love interest, Beth Turner, a beautiful, ambitious Internet investigative reporter who is always on the hunt for the big story. Myles replaces Shannon Lucio, who played the part — then a TV reporter — in the pilot presentation.

“Life Is Wild,” from CBS Paramount Network TV, Company Pictures and WBTV, centers on a New York veterinarian (Moffett) who moves his second wife and their two sets of children to a South African game preserve. Moffett replaces Brett Cullen, who played the part in the pilot.

“Eli,” from ABC Studios, centers on a thirtysomething attorney (Jonny Lee Miller) who begins to have larger-than-life visions. Letscher will play the man’s brother, a role he originated in the pilot as a guest star.

In “Nip/Tuck’s” upcoming fifth season, De Rossi will play a manipulative lesbian mother whose teen daughter wants to have plastic surgery.
