Brendan Fitzpatrick sued over alleged $80 million fraud case

Rich Kids of Beverly Hills star, Brendan Fitzpatrick, is accused of operating a get-rich-quick scheme that allegedly scammed several wealthy businessmen out of more than $80 million in a ruse involving “mining concessions” in Asia and Africa (via EW).

Heavy Metal Capital Partners, one of the plaintiffs, claims that Fitzpatrick’s company, Carbonatik LLC, a global mining venture based in Sri Lanka, solicited them for a $500,000 investment and guaranteed dividends by 2025. Heavy Metal Capital alleges that Carbonatik misinterpreted themselves as having “already funded investor facilities and mining concessions to support immediate production.”

The lawsuit claims that Carbonatik later informed them that “they still needed $1–2 million merely to fund ‘preparatory work’ and ‘trial shipments’ and had not yet secured the promised financing or production capability.” Carbonatik has since denied all the claims by Heavy Metal Capital.

In a separate case, Fitzpatrick is also being sued for $74 million over a failed property venture in Greece (via Post).

Brendan Fritzpack rose to prominence on the E! reality series Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, which showcased the lives of uberwealthy young people. The show also included Fitzpatrick’s then-girlfriend, Morgan Stewart, social media influencer Dorothy Wang, and E.J. Johnson, the son of Los Angeles Lakers star Magic Johnson.

Fitzpatrick proposed to Stewart during the run of the show, and their wedding served as the series finale of Rich Kids of Beverly Hills. The pair later divorced. Fitzpatrick later married Chloe de Serigny while Stewart tied the knot to host Dr. Phi McGraw’s son, Jordan.
