The Batman 2 fans share mixed reactions to Brian Tyree Henry’s Two-Face casting
A reported casting update for The Batman Part 2 has divided fans, with reactions ranging from support to skepticism. The discussion began after a new industry report linked Brian Tyree Henry to the role of Harvey Dent, the Gotham City prosecutor who ultimately becomes the villain known as Two-Face.
The claim was first reported by Jeff Sneider, who stated that Henry is expected to join Matt Reeves’ Batman universe as Dent. “I’m told that Brian Tyree Henry will be playing Harvey Dent. He won’t be the first Black actor to play Dent in live-action, as Billy Dee Williams played the character in Tim Burton’s 1989 movie Batman,” he noted. However, as of now, neither Warner Bros. nor DC Studios has officially confirmed the casting.
Following the report, social media quickly filled with reactions from fans. Many expressed support for the potential casting, praising Henry’s acting ability. “Dude is a phenomenal actor. He can do this role justice,” one user wrote. Another fan added, “If this actually works out, he’s going to be like Brian Cranston 2.0.”
A third person noted, “I don’t think Two-Face being black is that out of place or that big of a deal, in Michael Ketons universe he was black and the 89 comic run so I don’t see why everyone is freaking out like this hasn’t happened before.”
However, not all reactions were positive. Some fans questioned whether Henry is the right fit for a character. “Great actor but I’ve never seen him in a role that requires this amount of versatility,” one user commented.
Another added, “Brian Tyree looks more like a victor Zsasz @mattreevesLA.” A third fan simply wrote, “Won’t be seeing if true.”
For now, the reported casting remains unconfirmed.
