General Hospital’s latest episode delivered a shocking twist that may lead to another character’s death. However, many fans aren’t convinced. They argue that the character will survive because of one particular reason.

Lucas gets shot on General Hospital, but here’s why he may not die

At the end of General Hospital’s June 9 episode, Sidwell shot Lucas in the chest. Without revealing whether he died on the spot, the episode ended on a cliffhanger, leaving fans to wait for the next episode.

For context, after Laura told Sidwell that she’s shutting down his helipad, he decided to frame her for Dalton’s murder. When he opened his safe to retrieve the fabricated evidence, he discovered it was gone. Sidwell soon realizes that Lucas stole it. When he later meets Lucas, the two get into a heated exchange. Both blame each other for Marco’s death. Their conversation ends with Sidwell shooting Lucas.

Following the episode, General Hospital viewers took to the show’s fan page on Facebook to discuss the scene. Many fans believe that Lucas will not die, as he appeared to be wearing something under his jacket, maybe a bulletproof vest.

A fan posted, “Lucas was obviously wearing something bulky under his jacket, that’s for sure.  Hope it was enough to protect him. Good episode today. It actually felt like all the storylines were moving along a bit.” Another fan speculated, “I think that Lucas wore a bulletproof!”

Both posts have garnered a lot of attention, with other fans joining in on the conversation. One fan commented, “We know he did. You could see it, very obvious!” A second fan replied, “Yes, because there was no blood when he was shot.” A third fan said, “I sure hope so. He did look kind of thick on top.”
