The Beatles’ Unprecedented 4-Movie Event Just Got More Ambitious

Sam Mendes’ Beatles project just revealed something that changes everything fans thought about the four films. One star shared an exciting new detail about how different each movie will actually be.

New comments reveal each Beatles film will have its own tone and identity

Actor Adam Pally recently revealed new details about Sam Mendes’ four-part Beatles biopic project to The Direct.

The Sony Pictures production will tell the story of each band member through separate films. Harris Dickinson plays John Lennon, while Paul Mescal plays Paul McCartney. Joseph Quinn and Barry Keoghan play George Harrison and Ringo Starr, respectively. The ambitious cinematic event will arrive in April 2028 as a simultaneous theatrical release.

Pally, who plays the band’s former manager Allen Klein, spoke about the project’s creative approach. He confirmed that each film will carry a distinct identity rather than following a uniform style.

“They are totally different. The way The Beatles were individually, totally different, and the movies reflect each Beatles’ tone, in a way,” Pally said. His comments suggest Mendes has crafted four unique cinematic experiences within one overarching project.

The actor also praised the overall quality and cohesion of the four films. “They all go together beautifully, and then they also are all individually perfect in that way, you know?” Pally added. His remarks indicate the films will function both as standalone stories and as connected pieces. Mendes is currently shooting all four movies concurrently in the United Kingdom.

The project also features a stacked supporting cast alongside its four leads. Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Aimee Lou Wood, James Norton, and David Morrissey all hold roles. Sony previously unveiled the project at CinemaCon 2025, where CEO Tom Rothman promised to “dominate the culture that month.” Mendes also confirmed the cast and release window during that presentation.

The release strategy marks one of Hollywood’s most ambitious theatrical experiments in recent memory. Releasing four interconnected biopics within a single month presents both creative and commercial challenges for the studio.
