Scooby-Doo: Origins Teaser Trailer Unveils First Look at Scooby and Release Date Window

Fans just got their first look at Scooby-Doo in Netflix’s upcoming TV series. The series’ cast was announced months ago but the heroic dog himself wasn’t revealed at the time.

What do we see in the Scooby-Doo: Origins teaser trailer?

A new teaser trailer for the series shows the dog’s perspective on the ground before being picked up by Shaggy. The footage reveals that Scooby will be played by a real dog, which is a first for the franchise. A Great Dane pup is playing Scooby-Doo. A clearer look at the dog can be seen in DiscussingFilm’s post, showing the brown dog with his iconic blue collar.

The announcement also revealed that the show will arrive on Netflix in 2027, where Scooby-Doo: Origins is described as a modern reimagining of the franchise. The film’s synopsis reads, “During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy (Hagen) and Daphne (Mckenna Grace) get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma (Abby Ryder Fortson), and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy (Maxwell Jenkins), they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”

Scooby-Doo: Origins releases on Netflix in 2027. The series will debut with eight episodes.
