Pierce Brosnan’s 83% RT Action Movie With Deadpool Star To Stream on Netflix

Netflix is adding an underrated 2023 action film starring Pierce Brosnan to its library next month. The film follows an aging fixer who teams up with his victim’s ex-wife and seeks revenge on those who killed his mob boss.

Fast Charlie arrives on Netflix in June

Fast Charlie begins streaming on Netflix from Friday, June 5, 2026 (via What’s on Netflix).

It is based on Victor Gischler’s 2001 novel, Gun Monkeys. Meanwhile, Phillip Noyce helmed the adaptation with a screenplay from Richard Wenk.

Fast Charlie follows Charlie Swift, an aging hitman and fixer working for New Orleans mob boss Stan. In his final job, he is tasked with killing a gangster called Rollo and delivering proof of death. However, the mission goes wrong when Rollo’s severed head gets destroyed. To complete the job, he teams up with Marcie Kramer, Rollo’s ex-wife and a taxidermist. Later, when a rival gang wipes out Stan and his crew, Charlie sets out for revenge with Marcie accompanying him.

The film stars Pierce Brosnan as Charlie, Deadpool’s Morena Baccarin as Marcie, James Caan as Stan, Gbenga Akinnagbe as Beggar, and Christopher Matthew Cook as Lloyd, among others. This was James Caan’s last project before his passing in 2022. He is popular for his work in films and shows such as The Godfather, Misery, Thief, and Las Vegas.

Fast Charlie was mainly a straight-to-streaming release. It premiered at the 2023 Mill Valley Film Festival on October 7 and later debuted online on December 8, 2023. However, it also experienced a limited theatrical release.

The film is often regarded as Brosnan’s underrated action film, with reviews praising it for its old-school approach to action and revenge stories. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a Tomatometer score of 83% and a Popcornmeter score of 81%. On the other hand, Metacritic reports a weighted average critics’ score of 65 and a user score of 5.6.
