Dan Levy’s Netflix Crime Comedy TV Show Big Mistakes Gets Hilarious Trailer

Netflix has finally shared the first trailer for Emmy winner Dan Levy‘s newest comedy series about two dysfunctional siblings. Titled Big Mistakes, the family crime comedy serves as Levy’s second original scripted series after creating and starring in the award-winning sitcom Schitt’s Creek. It is expected to premiere sometime in 2026.

“In what promises to be a wildly dysfunctional, hilariously chaotic ride, the series follows two deeply incapable siblings who are blackmailed into the world of organized crime,” reads the logline.

What do we know about Dan Levy’s Big Mistakes series?

Big Mistakes is created and executive-produced by Levy and Rachel Sennott (Bottoms, I Love LA), with Levy also set as its showrunner. The ensemble cast also includes Taylor Ortega (The Four Seasons, Another Simple Favor) as Morgan, Laurie Metcalf (Lady Bird) as Linda, Jack Innanen (Adults) as Max, Boran Kuzum (Thank You, Next, Bihter: A Forbidden Passion) as Yusuf, Abby Quinn (Hell of a Summer) as Natalie, Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds) as Annette, Jacob Gutierrez (Dear Edward) as Tare, Joe Barbara (Just in Time) as Mike, and Mark Ivanir (Emilia Pérez, Zero Day) as Ivan.

“I’m so excited to be bringing this truly chaotic family story to life with Netflix,” Levy said in a previous statement. “I’m thrilled with the team we’re building both behind the scenes and in front of the camera. Taylor Ortega is going to become a household name, and it’s been my life’s mission to get to call Laurie Metcalf ‘mother.’ Looking forward to getting to share this with everyone.”

The eight-episode show is a part of Levy’s overall movie and TV deal with Netflix, which he signed in 2021. This marks the second collaboration between Levy and the streamer, after the 2024 drama film Good Grief, which was the comedic actor’s feature directorial debut. It is executive-produced by Anne-Marie McGintee for Not a Real Production Company.
