Has Vladimir Season 2 Been Canceled or Renewed?

Vladimir, a new comedy-drama series, premiered on Netflix on March 5, 2026, and with the series’ debut, fans are eager to know if there will be a second season of the show. Starring Rachel Weisz, John Slattery, and Leo Woodall in the leading roles, the early reviews and reactions to the show were pretty good, and now fans are wondering if there will be more of Vladimir.

Has Netflix canceled Vladimir or renewed it for Season 2?

Netflix has positioned Vladimir as a limited series. This means that it is very unlikely that the show will get a second season. Most shows that have previously been termed as limited shows have concluded in one season.

In case of intense popularity, the network may make an exception. However, that too is not really a possibility for Vladimir, as it is adapted from a novel.

The story of the series is adapted from Julia May Jonas’ novel of the same name. This means that the first season of the show, which will possibly be the only season, too, covers the whole story of the novel. Hence, there is nothing to go forward with either.

The series follows an unnamed, middle-aged writer (Weisz), also a mother and wife, who gets obsessed with her new colleague, Vladimir (Woodwall). Tudum describes the show as “what happens when a woman is hell-bent on turning her fantasies into reality.”

The author of the novel was also involved in the series as the showrunner. “I had Julia’s novel, which I’d read prior to being offered the role, and I had her screenplays,” Weisz said about the series. “Her writing is so superb. It’s so funny and mischievous and truthful, and slightly ridiculous. That’s what makes it funny (via Tudum).”

Woodwall added, “It was her first time working on a film set. It was the first time a novel of hers had been made into a TV show, her first time showrunning. She had a lot of responsibility.”

All eight episodes of Vladimir are now streaming on Netflix.
