Grace Van Patten on the prospects of Tell Me Lies Season 4
In an interview with Collider, Tell Me Lies star Grace Van Patten addressed the possibility of Season 4. When asked about continuing the story, she said, “I think it could go either way. I hope people like the ending. I’m really happy with it. I love that it really could go either way. I think it’s a great ending if it’s done here. If it decides to go on, I don’t know what that looks like, but I’d be curious to find out.”
Meaghan Oppenheimer confirmed Season 3 as the series finale. Ahead of the finale, Oppenheimer wrote on Instagram, “After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight’s episode will be the series finale.” She added, “This was always the ending my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it.”
Van Patten also reflected on how the story concludes for Lucy and Stephen. Discussing the final moments, she said, “I love the ending so much. I love how predictable it is that he left her again. I love the reaction to it because, for the first time, there’s a relief in it, as opposed to being destroyed by it. It’s the first time you see Lucy take it as a sign. It feels like she might be completely done.” She later described Stephen as “a supervillain.”
Oppenheimer further explained the decision to end the series, stating, “Your incredible response to this season inspired us to explore whether there was another organic way to continue the story, but ultimately we felt it had reached its natural conclusion.” She also noted, “My main goal has always been to protect the quality of the show and give you the best experience I can give you.”
