The episode opens with Ridge interrupting Deacon and Taylor’s makeout session. He warns Deacon that this forbidden love should not continue because, if it does, Sheila will unleash hell. He reminds him of the torment the maniac has caused the whole family for years.
When Ridge asks him to stay away from Taylor, Deacon confesses that he loves her. Ridge then asks Deacon to leave, wanting to have a one on one talk with Taylor. He asks her what she is doing and reminds her of the dangers of dating Deacon. Taylor argues that she will not let him decide whom she can love.

Sheila jokingly warns
When Sheila reveals her romantic surprise plans for Deacon, Deke’s eyes go to her missing toes, and he chokes on the pizza he is eating. Sheila says that she lost her toe while protecting Steffy. Deke asks her to keep her toes away and admits that it is difficult to forget her misdeeds. Sheila asks if they can bond over his dad’s success.
Deke says he cannot accept his father’s future with her. Sheila insists that one day he will like her. Turning to her dark side, she also warns that she might kill him if he comes between her and Deacon. She brushes it off, saying she is kidding, but Deke is not surprised. She reassures him that she has changed and takes their vows seriously.
RJ learns more about Dylan
After commenting on how much her son looks like Ridge, Brooke sits with R.J., waiting to eat, not knowing where Ridge is. To break the silence, she asks her son if he is interested in someone. R.J. replies that he is interested in Jamie.
She reminds him that Jamie is with Will, and they talk about the kindness Jamie and Will have shown to Dylan. R.J. reveals that he met Dylan. Brooke then shares that Dylan might have had the receptionist job, but Jamie got it instead. She opens up about Dylan’s difficult life and financial struggles.
Deacon turns down Sheila’s surprise
Deke informs Deacon that Sheila is upstairs and has planned a surprise for him. When Deacon goes up, he turns down Sheila’s romantic setup, prompting her to ask if it has anything to do with his session with Taylor.
Elsewhere, Ridge and Taylor continue arguing about Deacon. Ridge tries to make Taylor understand that dating Deacon is dangerous because Sheila is his wife, and that is why Steffy gave her an ultimatum to protect the family.
Ridge convinces Taylor
A hungry Dylan later eats the pizza Deke threw away. Meanwhile, Sheila presses Deacon for answers about what happened during the session, and he lies. Taylor tries to convince Ridge that Deacon truly wants her. Ridge says of course he does, and that he could have chosen her over the madwoman.
Thinking about the danger Sheila could bring, Ridge emotionally tells Taylor that he does not want to lose their family. Taylor finally breaks down, and Ridge assures her that she can love anyone, just not Deacon. A teary eyed Taylor decides she will not see Deacon anymore. Later, when they are apart, Deacon says that he loves her, and Taylor tearfully says she loves him too.
