Chris Hemsworth & Elsa Pataky’s Amazon Alexa Ad Gives Major Ultron Vibes

In a new Amazon Super Bowl commercial, Chris Hemsworth teams up with Elsa Pataky to introduce the upgraded Amazon Alexa, called Alexa+, giving major ultron vibes. The commercial turns AI fear into comedy as the Marvel star imagines the worst-case scenario with Amazon’s new assistant.

Chris Hemsworth is afraid of Amazon Alexa in new ad

In the new Super Bowl ad, Chris Hemsworth meets playful Alexa. The commercial starts with Hemsworth walking in to see Pataky casually chatting with Alexa+.

He instantly assumes the AI has bad intentions. His imagination runs wild as he pictures Alexa trapping him behind jammed doors, causing accidents in the swimming pool, delivering a grizzly bear as a package, or even blowing up the house.

He says that Alexa feels like full-on AI friendly one second and dangerous the next. However, Pataky, on the other hand, stays relaxed and trusts Alexa completely, even as the assistant announces things like, “Your car is here.”

As the commercial goes on, Alexa+ proves it’s actually useful. It helps with game-day plans, creates menus, gives live updates, and works with Fire TV so users can control everything hands-free.

By the end, Alexa offers to book Hemsworth a massage and a cinnamon scrub, which finally changes his mind. He pauses and says, “Wait, you can do that? I do love a cinnamon scrub.” The ad plays on Hemsworth’s superhero past and AI fears but lands on a simple message that Alexa+ makes everyday life easier, not scarier.

About Amazon mentions that Alexa+ is now available across the U.S. and comes at no extra cost for Prime members. Users can turn it on by saying, “Alexa, upgrade to Alexa+,” or by signing in to Alexa.com.

Non-Prime users can also try Alexa+ for free through the chat option on Alexa.com or via the Alexa app.
