Search Party starts streaming Netflix in February
Search Party (Seasons 1–5) will begin streaming on Netflix in the United States on February 5, 2026, according to What’s on Netflix. The series, created by Sarah-Violet Bliss, Charles Rogers, and Michael Showalter, originally premiered on TBS in 2016 and later moved to HBO Max, concluding with its fifth season in 2022. Netflix will add all 50 episodes to its U.S. library as part of its February content lineup.
The series follows Dory Sief, played by Alia Shawkat, who becomes obsessed with finding a missing college acquaintance. The cast includes John Reynolds as Drew Gardner, John Early as Elliott Goss, and Meredith Hagner as Portia Davenport. Over its five seasons, the show transitions from mystery to courtroom drama, psychological thriller, and surreal science fiction.
Search Party will join several other additions scheduled for February 5, including Cash Queens (Season 1), the French animated series Samuel (Season 1), and The Lincoln Lawyer (Season 4), a Netflix Original. These releases are part of a broader lineup of new content coming to Netflix throughout the month.
Critical reception for the series remained strong throughout its run. Season 1 holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 81 score on Metacritic. Subsequent seasons also received high marks, with particular praise for the performances and the show’s genre-blending approach.
The release reflects Netflix’s strategy of licensing content from other platforms while expanding its catalog. Search Party joins a growing list of titles originally produced for HBO Max that have since become available on Netflix through licensing agreements.
