Pineapple Express Arrival Date

Sony Pictures will release Knocked Up star Seth Rogen’s new comedy Pineapple Express on August 8, 2008, reports Variety. Rogen co-wrote the pic with Even Goldberg.

Produced by Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin helmer Judd Apatow, the David Gorden Green-directed comedy also stars James Franco (“Spider-Man” franchise), Danny R. McBride, Gary Cole, Rosie Perez, Amber Heard and James Remar.

The August date would tentatively pit “Pineapple” against the second weekend of Universal’s Hellboy 2: The Golden Army and directly against New Line’s Brendan Fraser-starrer Journey 3-D.

On their way to becoming self-actualized adults, a duo of delinquent dudes find themselves stymied by unfortunate habits. But when stuck-in-neutral process server Dale Denton (Rogen) inadvertently witnesses a drug-related murder, he and his bug Saul (Franco) find that sometimes the motivation you need to make something of your life is a mob of fugitives hunting you down.
