New Disney+ Fantasy Series Gets 100% Rotten Tomatoes Score

Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 has received a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes following its debut. The second season premiered about two years after the first one. The epic fantasy series, which blends modern-day storytelling with Greek mythology, was co-created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg and is based on the former’s novel series of the same name.

Percy Jackson Season 2 tops Season 1’s Rotten Tomatoes score

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 has received a 100% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes‘ Tomatometer. It has also earned a solid 88% score on the Popcornmeter.

The scores held by Season 2 are higher than those of Season 1, which has a 91% fresh score and a 79% audience score.

Moreover, Season 2’s fresh score is also better than any MCU series, as none of them has scored a 100%, though Ms. Marvel came close with a 98% rating. Notably, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur — which is a Marvel project but not set in the MCU — also received a 100% fresh score. X-Men ’97 also reportedly received a 100% score when it initially debuted on Disney+ before dropping to 99%.

Meanwhile, on Metacritic, Season 2 has a metascore of 73 and an audience score of 8, both indicating a “Generally Favorable” outcome. Notably, Season 1 also has the same metascore, but its audience score is 6.8.

Season 2 adapts The Sea of Monsters, the second novel in Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. In the second season, Percy travels to the Sea of Monsters to search for Grover and the Golden Fleece. He also joins forces with his Cyclops half-brother, Tyson, Annabeth, and Clarisse to stop Luke and Kronos from destroying Camp Half-Blood and Olympus.

The second season premiered with its first two episodes on December 10, 2025. Subsequent episodes will be released every week until January 21, 2026.

Walker Scobell headlines the series as Percy Jackson. Supporting cast members include Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Dior Goodjohn, among others.
