Museum Repeats Top Spot a Third Week

Night at the Museum remained the top-renting DVD in the country for the third consecutive week, while romantic comedy Because I Said So took the top spot on the national DVD sales chart in its first week in stores.

Warner Home Video’s Music and Lyrics debuted at No. 2 on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart and No. 5 on Home Media Magazine’s rental chart.

Sony Pictures’ Catch and Release bowed at No. 5 on the sales chart and No. 7 on the rental chart.

The previous week’s top seller, Paramount’s “Dreamgirls,” slipped to No. 3 on First Alert.

62 percent of the discs purchased by consumers for the week ending May 13 were Blu-ray Disc, while 38 percent were HD DVD.
