Dominic Zamprogna on how Taylor Swift informs his General Hospital performance
Recently, Zamprogna sat down for an interview with Woman’s World to discuss his Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor. While speaking about how he gets into the right state of mind during an emotional scene, he explained that it has much to do with being a girl’s dad. Actors might have numerous ways of forcing the tears out, but Zamprogna’s secret seems to be his daughters. Zamprogna has three wonderful daughters, Anbilliene, Eliana, and Adeline Pauline, with his wife Linda Leslie.
Talking about getting into character during a vulnerable moment, Zamprogna explains, “So when I have to do an emotional scene, I don’t think about negative things.” Referring to his daughters, he then reveals, “I think about their faces at the Taylor Swift concert, those pictures on the phone reminding of ‘10 years ago,’ and the joy that is innately them before all these societal pressures are added and create this heaviness on them—which breaks your heart, too.”
Zamprogna surely loves being a girl dad. Further, he confesses to being a little scared for his girls. He continues, “I was saying to Jane Elliot the other day, ‘You get what you can handle,’ and she said something like, ‘No, you get what allows you to be the best that you can be. I’ve learned so much from being their dad. I’m so proud of them. It makes me want to cry talking about it.”
