Curious to know when Parenthood is leaving Hulu? The comedy-drama series centers on the Braverman family in California, who navigate the joys and challenges of marriage and parenthood while sticking by each other’s side. The show consists of six seasons, all set to leave the platform. Here’s the show’s departure date and where you can watch it next.
Why is Parenthood leaving Hulu and when?
Parenthood seems to be leaving Hulu as its license may have expired. Since the license wasn’t renewed, the content won’t remain on the platform for now. The show expires in 9 days, meaning it will leave on October 24, 2025.
According to Just Watch, all six seasons of the show are available to buy on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+. This is not the first time the show has left Hulu; back in October 2023, it was briefly removed from the library (via Decider). However, it managed to return to streaming in just a few days. So, there is a chance that the show will return after its license is renewed. There’s no confirmation regarding this.
If it were to shift platforms, Peacock seems fitting, given that the show falls under the NBCUniversal banner. Moreover, fans wouldn’t have to pay separately to buy a particular series if it moves to Peacock or returns to Hulu, as it would be available to watch under the regular subscription plan on both services. Now, whether Hulu retains it or some other streaming service pays for its rights remains to be seen.
Parenthood concluded with its sixth season, with Deadline reporting that the show might have been canceled over salary and cost-cutting measures. While it’s been years since the show concluded, creator Jason Katims previously expressed his interest in doing a potential reboot in an E! News interview. “It’s interesting, I think it’s getting to be like enough time has passed where you can really look at the next generation,” he added.
