Bold and Beautiful‘s Sean Kanan (who portrays Deacon Sharpe) recently hit back at a fan request to cancel the soap opera on X. Kanan respectfully called out the fan for wishing for hundreds of people to lose their jobs. The fan posted a lengthy message requesting that Bold and Beautiful’s slot be given to Beyond the Gates.

A battle of words emerged on X after a fan posted about what they found problematic in The Bold and the Beautiful. Going a step further, the fan asked for the show to be canceled.
@TheSpoilerGirl wrote on X, “The problem with #Boldandbeautiful is you have a head writer who is stubborn on pairings like Bridge/Lope and none of them have chemistry. This soap needs to be cancelled, move up #BeyondTheGates to their time slot.” They added, “He doesn’t want to adapt as a writer, so time to move on, and if he wants to write for KKL, he can just go create a series for her on another network.”
This incited a reaction from actor Sean Kanan. He gained fame for portraying Deacon Sharpe on The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless. The actor reshared the post on his X account and hit back at the fan.
The actor posted, “You are certainly entitled to your opinion about the writing and direction of the show. However, when you call for the show to be cancelled, you are calling for hundreds of hard-working people who consistently do their best to create the very best show possible to lose their jobs.” He further added, “These are people with families who depend upon them. I’m sure that wasn’t your intention, but words matter. #BoldandBeautiful.”
Before him, many fans also took to the comment section of the original post. They urged others not to watch the show if they disliked it.
This shows that despite some criticism, there is still a significant fanbase for the show.
