How Did Jimmy Die & How Does Bodhi React to His Death in Tulsa King Season 3?

Jimmy “The Creek” died in Taylor Sheridan’s Tulsa King Season 2, but his death still holds a significant influence on his allies in Season 3. While a lot of characters’ deaths go unnoticed, Jimmy’s death rippled into Season 3, ensuring the audience remembered him and sympathized with his allies.

Here’s how Jimmy died and how his death affected his allies in Season 3.

How did Jimmy die in Tulsa King?

Tulsa King’s Jimmy “The Creek,” portrayed by Glen Gould, was an important character who played a key role in Dwight’s (Sylvester Stallone) empire. He was introduced as a local weed farmer and later became a close ally and primary supplier of Dwight. However, Jimmy’s death in Season 2 sent shock waves among his allies across the city.

In Season 2, Episode 8, Bill Bevilaqua (Frank Grillo) orchestrated a brutal shooting at the Even Higher Plane dispensary. Jimmy and Bodhi (Martin Starr) were both standing outside when the drive-by shooting happened. While Bodhi was unharmed, Jimmy was not so lucky. He had gunshots in his abdomen and collapsed to the ground.

Jimmy’s death was a personal and direct assault on Dwight’s business. Losing him meant a major blow to the business.

The aftermath of Jimmy’s death in Tulsa King Season 3 explained

Right from the beginning of Season 3, Episode 1, the show makes it clear that Jimmy’s death is still felt among his allies. A majority of it is felt from Bodhi, who struggles the most with Jimmy’s death. Bodhi feels very guilty of surviving the attack and hates still having to work under Bill. He knew that it was Bill who planned the attack, and planned a revenge.

During an exchange, Bodhi shoots one of the gunmen who killed Jimmy. Although the deal goes south because of his actions, Dwight isn’t upset with him. Instead, he stands by him, promising to avenge his dead ally.

Unlike other characters who’ve rarely been mentioned after their last appearance, the constant reminder of Jimmy’s death makes the character all the more critical. In Season 3, much of the characters’ motivation centers on avenging Jimmy’s death, propelling the story forward.

You can currently stream the first episode of Tulsa King Season 3 on Paramount+. The rest of the episodes will be released on a weekly schedule.
