General Hospital’s Eden McCoy Explains Why Josslyn Slept With Vaughn

Eden McCoy, who plays Josslyn, recently revealed why her character shared an intimate moment with her work partner, Vaughn, on General Hospital. For those unfamiliar, the duo is posing as newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Nash. They are on an undercover mission at the Five Poppies in Croatia. While on assignment, Vaughn was attacked and nearly strangled, but Josslyn came to his rescue and tackled the attacker. In the aftermath of that dangerous encounter, their professional relationship crossed into something more personal, and here’s why.

General Hospital’s Eden McCoy says Josslyn was seeking ‘connection’ when she slept with Vaughn

In a conversation with Soap Opera Digest, McCoy explained her perspective on the intimate situation between Joss and Vaughn. She revealed that their intent to get close wasn’t pre-planned but happened in the heat of the moment.

Explaining how their rocky start to the relationship translated into something more personal, she said, “I think the nature of their relationship is that they didn’t really like each other in the beginning or were friends from the start. So that kind of naturally grew. They both naturally and slowly gained respect for one another — enough to be able to stand each other, at least. They’ve always had kind of an edgy relationship, more of a guarded relationship with each other. But that really started to change when they kissed [back in Port Charles], and it changes even more on this mission.”

McCoy further noted that Josslyn’s priority is her job and has no idea what she feels towards her work partner, Vaughn. In her honest opinion, Joss finds it “confusing,” especially with the nature of Vaughn’s behavior, which shifts from brooding to unexpectedly romantic. However, for now, she is just focused on business and isn’t looking forward to a personal relationship with him. But, she didn’t deny that Joss does get “curious at times.”

McCoy believes that their lovemaking wouldn’t have happened if Vaughn hadn’t comforted Joss after their intense confrontation with the attacker. She believes that the heat of the moment led to their intimacy. “But I don’t think Joss would have taken the initiative to have sex with him. Vaughn opened up that door with going in for the kiss and him comforting her. She wanted connection, I suppose, and to get out of the headspace she was previously in. But clearly, neither one of them was thinking about what would happen after, or the consequences of it,” she mentioned. Moreover, she shared that the way the intimate moment happened felt unplanned and real, calling it “a very human moment.”
