Netflix has reportedly opted against any future deals with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The news has surfaced just ahead of the Duchess of Sussex’s return in the upcoming sophomore season of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. Insider leaks now suggest that this could be the last we see of the royal couple on the platform.
Here are all the details on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal.
Is Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal getting canceled?
Netflix has not made any official announcements confirming whether they have canceled its deal with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. However, the chances of its renewal look bleak.
An insider source from Netflix has reportedly claimed that Netflix has dropped the $100 million deal with the couple, which expires this year. The streaming platform will not produce any more projects with the royal duo due to the poor performance of their previous content, which failed to break into the Top 300 list on Netflix.
“This deal is dead,” the source claimed. “She had everything going for her—name, platform, press—and the numbers were dismal. They’re just waiting for the credits to roll. They’re letting it expire without drama. There’s no appetite for anything new.” (via Daily Mail)
Meghan Markle’s 2025 lifestyle reality series, With Love, Meghan, failed to generate a strong viewership. Although the show was renewed for a second season, which will be released in late 2025, it will likely mark her final appearance on the platform.
Similarly, Prince Harry’s 2024 documentary series, Polo, received dismal ratings and ranked only 3,436 out of 7,000 shows on Netflix. In light of this disastrous reception, Netflix has reportedly scrapped all future projects with the couple.
As per another report, the cancellation has not dampened the relationship between the Sussexes and the Netflix execs. Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos reportedly remains on cordial terms with the couple.
