Why Is Brennan Leaving Dropout TV?

Curious why Brennan Lee Mulligan is leaving Dropout TV? In a surprise announcement, the longtime Dimension 20 gamemaster revealed an unexpected career shift that left fans both confused and amused. With no signs of conflict or drama behind the scenes, his exit takes a uniquely comedic turn.

Here’s what Mulligan said and how the Dropout community is reacting.

Here’s why Brennan Lee Mulligan is leaving Dropout TV

In a video posted to Game Changer Shorts on July 15, 2025, Brennan Lee Mulligan announced, “Effective immediately, I will no longer be with Dropout.tv.” He clarified early on, “There is no bad blood between us. There’s no drama.” Mulligan said he had chosen to dedicate himself fully to “the craft and profession of making custom shoes for American Girl dolls.”

In the same video, he elaborated, “Kit, Melody, Josephina — have you seen what they’re working with? Dog, bro. Shoes are not historically accurate. Disproportional plastic seam on the bottom.” He referenced Daniel Day-Lewis, saying, “Daniel D. Lewis left Hollywood to make shoes… I’m going to make smaller shoes and I’m better than him.”

While the announcement resembled a parody, Dropout’s official site featured the domain mentioned in the video — brennansamegirldollshoes.com — with the tagline: “I’m better at making shoes than you are at anything.” The website’s existence fueled confusion among fans over whether Mulligan’s departure was genuine or comedic.

The tone of the announcement echoed past CollegeHumor-style sketches. Brennan said, “Sometimes your heart sings a song so loud that your soul can’t not hear it.” He closed by asking viewers to “please investigation, check out my website,” before saying goodbye with, “It’s got to be incredible. It’s got to be hell no.”

Mulligan has served as an executive producer, writer, and gamemaster on Dimension 20 since 2018 and was a key face of Dropout’s flagship series including Game Changer and Make Some Noise. In the video, he did not announce any formal successor but fan comments referenced Katie Marovitch potentially stepping into a leading role.
