Under a Dark Sun was filmed primarily in France, particularly in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, which is an administrative region in the southeast. Some scenes were reportedly also shot in Italy.
The series’ narrative is set in Eze, a seaside commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. This location is recognized for its hilltop, which offers tourists a stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea. Multiple scenes were shot in the said area, and the location was also used for establishing shots.
