General Hospital’s Kirsten Storms on Leaving & Returning as Maxie

For a while again, Kirsten Storms will not be appearing as Maxie on General Hospital. As per a recent revelation, the actress is leaving for a temporary hiatus before returning to the show later this year. Meanwhile, the handful of episodes that are set to feature Maggie will be handed over once again to Nicole Paggi. Paggi last appeared as Maggie in December 2023.

Kirsten Storms on why she is leaving General Hospital temporarily

In a new Instagram post from her official account, Kirsten Storms confirmed that she is done filming for General Hospital for the year. She will return briefly on the week of August 18, but will depart soon after. The actress revealed that this hiatus was in the plans for a long time.

She is taking this break because she’s moving from Los Angeles to Tennessee with her daughter, Harper Rose Barash. She posted a video explaining the same. “I’m very excited to be making Tennessee my home! I can’t wait to return to GH, once Harper and I are settled in our new town. I plan on documenting as much of this new journey on my social media as I can. It’s always been a dream of mine to move to a place like this, it’s hard to believe it’s really happening,” the caption of her post read.

She also explained in the video that she has been planning this since March.

Kirsten Storms on when she could return as Maxie in General Hospital

In the same post where Kirsten Storms broke down why she is leaving General Hospital, she also opened up about her possible return. In the video, the actress said, “The week before last week, I had my final taping day for the year…It’s possible I will be back in December, maybe November.”

So, after her taped arc ends, fans can expect to see Storms again at the end of the year.
