ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive Paperweight trailer for Buffalo 8’s upcoming sports documentary about musician Andrew P. Oliver’s journey to the world of mixed martial arts as he prepares for his first fight. The movie will also feature appearances of Ultimate Fighting Championship fighters Westin Wilson and Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. The latter will be co-headlining the UFC Fight Night on July 12, which will be nationally televised in Nashville on ESPN.
“The documentary follows Andrew P. Oliver, a recording artist, as he immerses himself in the brutal and beautiful world of MMA,” reads the documentary’s official synopsis. “Training with UFC fighters Westin Wilson and Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson, he seeks to answer a simple but dangerous question: What would happen if you took an average guy off the street and put him in the cage with one of the best fighters on the planet?”

When is the Paperweight release date?
Paperweight is scheduled to make its debut on September 5, 2025. It also features Stephen Oliver, Dan Johnson, Blake Spence, Jake Romano, Josh Reynolds, Joey Thompson, Matt Hannan, and Jimmy Matthews; a close-knit group of friends whose fearless approach to life drives the film’s narrative.
Described as a blend of adrenaline-fueled action with heartfelt comedy, the movie is directed and produced by Andrew P. Oliver and Dan Johnson. The documentary is expected to capture the intersection of reality journalism, combat sports, and musical performance. It is executive produced by Buffalo 8 co-founders Matthew Helderman and Luke Taylor, alongside President Grady Craig.
