Ironheart: Where Disney+ Show Fits in MCU Timeline Revealed

Where Ironheart fits into the MCU timeline has been revealed.

The first three episodes of Marvel Studios’ Ironheart will be released on Disney+ later tonight (Tuesday, June 24, 2025). Set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the show sees Dominique Thorne reprise his role as Riri Williams while Anthony Ramos plays Parker Robbins/The Hood.

When does Ironheart take place?

Speaking with The Direct, Ironheart producers Sev Ohanian and Zoie Nagelhout revealed how much time has passed in the MCU when the show begins since the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

“Probably a good, like, less than a year, like, between six months to a year after Wakanda: Forever,” Nagelhout said.

Ohanian added, “I mean, I’m the guy that was like, wait a minute, Spider-Man: Homecoming, the eight years later, like this doesn’t track. So the timeline, that’s huge for me. But I will tell you, in developing the show, it was always meant to be like six months to a year after Wakanda. I gotta be honest, I can’t remember how we landed on [it], but that was always the intention. And I know that some of the Marvel shows and movies are kind of like floating in the 2020s at different points. But I would call it about six months after [Wakanda Forever].”

The official synopsis for Ironheart reads, “Set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel Television’s Ironheart pits technology against magic when Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)—a young, genius inventor determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka The Hood (Anthony Ramos).”

Ironheart has six episodes in total, the final three of which will be released on July 1, 2025.
