On Days of Our Lives, Linsey Godfrey’s Sarah remains certain that Xander was responsible for attacking Philip, despite Philip regaining consciousness and stating otherwise. Godfrey confirmed, “Sarah 100 percent thinks that Xander is the person that beat Philip up.” (via Soap Opera Digest)
When Xander appeared at Philip’s hospital room, Sarah immediately threw him out, asserting that he didn’t belong there.
Sarah does not believe Philip’s exoneration of Xander. Godfrey explained, “The way it was written and the way I played it was, ‘I know [Philip is] lying.’” She added that Sarah sees both Philip and anyone supporting his claim as dishonest. At this point, Sarah is unaware that Xander pressured Philip to lie by threatening to expose Philip’s forged letter.
Although Philip’s lie got the charges against Xander dropped, it also opened the door for Xander to seek shared custody of his daughter with Sarah, Victoria. According to Godfrey, “Sarah doesn’t want Xander to have 50-50 custody of their daughter. She’s just too afraid of the variables that come with being alone with Xander.” Godfrey believes that when Xander had Sarah, Maggie, and Victoria in his life, their influence helped restrain his destructive tendencies.
Maggie, who usually supports Xander, also withheld her defense this time, adding to Sarah’s concern. Godfrey noted, “This is the first time that you saw Maggie not defend Xander to Sarah.” Sarah worries about what Xander might do without their guidance.
Sarah confronts Philip, asking whether he informed Xander that she had found out about the forged letter, but he lies again. Godfrey says Sarah has always viewed Philip as “sneaky and underhanded.” His latest lie pushes her into a custody battle with Xander.
