In a recent interview, Brad Pitt shared that he tried to get a racing movie made for decades. He noted that his attempts did not come to fruition until he got the call from Joseph Kosinski.
Pitt told E! News that the director had the idea of placing actors in “real cars,” which ran on “real tracks.” “It’s really audacious,” he stated. The 61-year-old actor marveled over Formula 1 drivers, noting how they jumped time zones and called their profession “incredible.” He added, “They are the best in the world.”
Pitt was then asked about the “most physically challenging” part of making the F1 movie. He said that the most difficult thing he faced when making the film was creating a script that would appeal to both Formula 1’s hardcore fans and newcomers who knew nothing or were just learning about the sport. “So you’re threading that needle. I think we got there,” the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor shared.
Besides Pitt, F1 also stars Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Kim Bodnia, Tobias Menzies, Shea Whigham, Sarah Niles, and Samson Kayo.
