So, here’s everything to know about the light-hearted moment shared by Johnson and Evans while promoting their latest film.
Chris Evans asks Dakota Johnson to help him open a jar
Fans can’t have enough of the 35-year-old actress and her Materialists co-star’s chaotic chemistry as the duo recently appeared in a new cooking video.
While making pizza for New York Times Cooking, Chris Evans struggled to open a sauce jar, and Dakota Johnson came to the rescue. The Fifty Shades of Grey star reveled in the glory of helping out the Marvel hero and joked, “Watch this, Captain America.”
To this, Evans suggested, “You are going to edit out the struggles.” However, before he took back the jar, Johnson successfully opened it, leaving him surprised.
The duo also joked about their ongoing “hate triangle” with their co-star Pedro Pascal, who portrays the character Harry in Materialists. Evans complained, “Pedro’s just playing hard to get right now.” Obviously, there is no “hate.” The Knives Out star also showered compliments on Pascal later when he was asked to describe the latter as a “food dish.”
Evans noted that The Last of Us actor could be a “daiquiri count,” as he is fun, colorful, and exciting. Moreover, Johnson added that he could actually be crème brûlée, while Evans would be a “flan.” She also gushed that Pascal is “tough on the outside. But then when you crack in there, he’s just like soft little sweetness.”
Meanwhile, Chris Evans discussed what drew him to Celine Song’s Materialists and his bond with Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal in a Vanity Fair interview. Swooning over his banterful relationship with the other two lead cast members of Materialists, Evans said, “I love Dakota and Pedro so much. They’ve been friends for a while, so I felt like I was third-wheeling it a little bit, but they just enveloped me.”
Materialists arrived in theaters on June 13, 2025, and is being received positively by critics and audiences.
