Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Lulu’s (Alexa Havins) rivalry has often provided plenty of drama to General Hospital fans. It culminated in a defining moment when Setton’s character slapped Lulu recently. This happened after Lulu refused to settle things between them after she caused immense distress to Brook and Gio (Giovanni Mazza).
Setton discussed this defining General Hospital plotline in a recent interview and shared her insight on it.
Amanda Setton says Lulu’s attitude prompted Brook Lynn to slap her in General Hospital
Amanda Setton sat down with Soap Opera Digest to discuss her character’s violent reaction. This was due to Lulu’s attitude after her snooping resulted in Gio finding out about his true parentage during the Nurses’ Ball, which is a major reveal. Accordingly, things have been quite turbulent since.
Setton first discussed her on-screen rival and her appreciation for Alexa Havins before talking about her character. She affirmed that she felt Lulu had the slap coming, especially as she was this involved in Brook Lynn’s business. “Lulu has been relentless!” she said, adding, “And Brook Lynn is pissed. She is at her wit’s end!” Setton further explained about Lynn’s state and said, “She honestly got to a point where she just can’t take it anymore…So then she freaked.”
The Crazy Ones star went on to explain how one of the barriers between them has been Lulu missing Brook’s “growth” as a character, which is also perhaps one of the reasons for how she behaves with Brook.
But the tipping point came when Maxie gave Lulu and Brook Lynn an opportunity to mend things, but Lulu refused to even do that. Setton stated, “I mean, Maxie gave Lulu and Brook Lynn an opportunity to make up, and Brook Lynn is resistant and Lulu is resistant, and finally Brook Lynn is the bigger person and says, ‘You know what? I understand, and for the sake of the kids, Gio and Rocco, I am willing to move past this all and accept your apology,’ and she refuses to apologize! So, that’s why [Brook slapped her]. This isn’t just coming out [of] nowhere!”
The upcoming episodes will see the drama escalate in General Hospital.
