How Sabrina Carpenter Responded to Backlash Over New Album Art

Sabrina Carpenter did not hold back in giving a fitting response to a fan criticizing the cover art of her new album, Man’s Best Friend. The cover, which features the pop sensation in a sultry black dress posing on all fours, shows her left hand resting on the knee of a mystery man in a black suit who is seen gripping a handful of her golden hair.

Needless to say, the suggestive image has caused quite a stir on the internet, attracting criticism. But the “Espresso” singer had a sharp comeback for all the critics.

Sabrina Carpenter reacts to fans criticising new album cover

A social media user recently attacked Sabrina Carpenter’s new album art by re-sharing the cover in an X post (formerly Twitter) on June 11 with a caption: “Does she have a personality outside of sex?” Carpenter took the opportunity to take a jab at the haters, posting a cheeky reply stating “Girl yes and it is goooooood.”

Before this interaction, Carpenter has clapped back at criticism regarding her music and artistic choices. Most recently, she addressed backlash claiming that she makes music focusing too heavily on sexuality.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, Carpenter said, “It’s always so funny to me when people complain,” she retorted. “They’re like, ‘All she does is sing about this.’ But those are the songs that you’ve made popular. Clearly you love sex. You’re obsessed with it.”

Sabrina Carpenter is all set to release her latest studio album, Man’s Best Friend, on August 29, 2025. Fans have already gotten a taste of what it has in store with the recent release of her single “Manchild.” The music video, which arrived on June 6, has already amassed almost 30 million views on YouTube and continues to climb each day.
