On the X handle of the scooper MyTimeToShineHello, they claimed that Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot are being considered for “big roles” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The rumor promptly caught netizens’ attention as the post garnered mixed responses.
One fan quipped, “Thanos ultimately failed, but Rachel could be the one to finally destroy the MCU.” Another jokingly posted, “Zegler could be air and Gadot could be light.” A third fan’s excited comment read, “Dream casting! Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot would slay in the MCU!”
Amid some negative comments, some fans also lent support for Zegler. One such comment stated, “I don’t get all the hate for Zegler. She has the same political views as Mark Ruffalo. I could see her playing a younger X-Man like Kitty Pryde.”
Meanwhile, Rachel Zegler’s recent pro-Palestine comment on X has drawn controversy. Variety reported that Zegler’s personal comment raised concerns among the Disney studio staff. As a result, Snow White’s producer, Marc Platt, decided to fly to New York to have a direct conversation with her.
Later, the Emmy-winning producer’s son also took to social media to react to the situation in a now-deleted Instagram comment. Jonah Platt, son of Marc Platt, criticized Zegler “dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie.” Platt noted that the actress had “signed a multi-million-dollar contract” to promote the film.
Platt commented, “Yeah, my dad, the producer of enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to to fly across the country to reprimand his 20 year old employee for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for.”
Zegler has not responded to Platt’s criticism online. However, fans noticed that the actress has changed her Instagram bio a few times in the last week amid the continuing Snow White controversies.
